Business Ideas for
People Who Hate to Work
If you’re tired of
waking up at 5 a.m. to go to a cubicle, struggling to make ends meet, and
dreading Friday afternoons, why don’t you become an entrepreneur instead? Here
are three very good reasons you might be better off leaving that 9 to 5 behind:
1. You’ll get to work on
an idea that’s uniquely yours.
All good entrepreneurs
are driven, and that, in turn, motivates their employees. So working at a business where you’re surrounded by people who don’t have your same fire – with
bosses who don’t seem to respect you, and co-workers who can’t see past their
egos – can be incredibly soul-crushing.
2. You can be as
involved as you want to be with your business.
That’s right – your
freedom as an entrepreneur comes not from the money you make, but from the things
you decide to pursue.
Look at any successful
entrepreneur and you’ll notice that they are seldom unemployed for more than a
few weeks at a time. This is not because they lack a strong work ethic – it’s
because they love what they do so much that they have no desire to remain
unemployed for longer than it takes to find a new challenge.
3. You’ll finally have
the time and resources to pursue your passion.
As an entrepreneur,
you’re surrounded by smart people. You get to pick your projects and the people
you work with. You’re allowed to spend money freely and do what you think is
right for your business. And no matter how good you are at your job, you’re not
allowed to answer to anyone other than yourself.
I know I didn’t have any
excuses for not running my own business. I just didn’t know what I wanted to do
with my life, and working at a cubicle was all I knew. So I left, and now I
work on a startup I call Red Pill Dreams, which is about helping people achieve
their dreams. And you know what? It’s the best job I’ve ever had.
3. Your stress levels
will be much lower than if you worked for someone else.
Once you become an
entrepreneur, you’ll find that you can focus on what you do best: building your
own business.
You’re free from the
bureaucracy and micromanaging of big businesses. Instead of worrying about
inventory and shipping issues, you can focus on finding the right new customers
for your product and turning your sales into a profit.
You’re free from endless
meetings and drudge work. Instead of having to call customers every time
there’s a problem with your product, you’ll be focusing on making it work
better and sending it out.
As an entrepreneur,
you’ll feel empowered. You’ll know that, just by making a few sacrifices, you
can create a better life for yourself and your loved ones.
